Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies Program (LACIS) Grants for Travel to Professional Meetings
Purpose
These grants are intended to promote faculty participation in professional meetings and to advance professional exchange and the dissemination of Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies research.
Eligibility
Grants are available to tenured or tenure track faculty. The grants are designed to support presentation of an invited paper and other substantial contributions at meetings. Clear evidence of the meeting's importance to the applicant's ongoing research must be provided. Applicants must have exhausted their eligibility for departmental and Graduate School travel funds. Grants are available for the presentation of Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian research only. One grant for funding to a professional meeting will be allowed every other academic year for either domestic or international travel.
Procedures
Application forms can be downloaded from the LACIS website. One copy of the application form and any additional materials should be submitted to LACIS, 209 Ingraham Hall. Grants are made for travel, maintenance, and/or registration fees for up to $800 per trip with reimbursement processed from receipts received no later than 30 days from your return. This grant will be allocated on a "first come, first served" basis until available funds are depleted, so we urge you to get your application in as early as possible.
